### What HappyFleet is

AI recruiter for frontline hiring that phones applicants within minutes of applying, screens them by voice over an ordinary phone call, scores the answers against criteria the employer sets, and returns a summary with the full transcript and recording. Also sold as a complete AI ATS running jobs, screening, background checks, certifications and onboarding in one system.

### Where we overlap

- Voice AI screening for frontline and hourly roles, contact within minutes of applying, the same questions for every candidate in a pool, a numeric score with the transcript and recording kept behind it, and the same verticals — delivery, warehousing, hospitality, QSR, retail and staffing.

### Side by side

Each row records what each company publishes about itself, read on the date above. Where we could not find something published, the row says so rather than marking it missing.

| Capability | HRMLESS | HappyFleet |
| --- | --- | --- |
| AI-led interviews | Available An AI voice agent conducts the interview as a two-way conversation with adaptive follow-ups, in the browser, with the video and audio recorded | Available Calls the applicant within minutes and screens by voice over an ordinary phone call, with no app or browser needed; candidates take it immediately or book a time |
| Conversational screening | Available Every applicant is screened against the role’s weighted competencies | Available Every applicant is screened against the role’s questions in the language they picked when applying |
| Structured interview workflows | Available The instrument is version-locked per requisition, so every candidate in a pool is scored on the same interview | Available Every candidate gets the same questions asked the same way, scored against the same criteria |

| Calibrated to your own top performers | Available Competency weightings are derived from interviews with the employer’s own top performers in that role, not from the job description | Not applicable The employer writes the questions and the scoring criteria per role; calibration to incumbent top performers is not part of the published model |
| Interview summaries | Available Scorecard per candidate, with each competency linked to the moment in the recording it came from | Available Dashboard summary with key answers highlighted, plus a full transcript and recording of every call |
| Bias testing | Available Independent AI bias audit published via the Trust Center | Partially available States that every candidate is asked the same questions and scored against the same criteria; no independent bias audit was found published |
| Human review & override | Available Human review on every decision; the platform does not auto-reject | Partially available A transcript and recording sit on every candidate profile so a score can be checked; no stated human-review requirement or override policy was found |
| Custom interview questions | Available Every question and rubric anchor is editable before launch; knockouts stay separate pass/fail gates rather than being blended into the score | Available The employer sets the questions and the scoring criteria for each role and can change them at any time |

### The differences that matter

- 1 Where the scoring model comes from. HappyFleet scores against questions and criteria the employer writes for the role. HRMLESS derives the competency weightings from interviews with the employer’s own top performers in that role.
- 2 How much of the stack it replaces. HappyFleet is sold as a full AI ATS — jobs, screening, interviews, background checks, certifications and onboarding in one system. HRMLESS is an interview and scoring layer that runs on the ATS you already have.
- 3 How the candidate takes it. HappyFleet phones the candidate on an ordinary call, with no app and nothing to install. The HRMLESS interview is a browser session in which an AI voice agent runs the conversation and the video and audio are recorded.
- 4 Published governance. HRMLESS publishes SOC 2, an independent bias audit and its NIST AI RMF alignment through the Trust Center. We checked happyfleet.ai/security and happyfleet.ai/integrations and both returned 404, so we could not find the equivalent — it may exist elsewhere on their site.
- 5 Pricing. HappyFleet publishes plan tiers and offers a free trial. HRMLESS is quoted per engagement.

### Which one to choose

#### Choose HRMLESS when

- You already run an ATS and want to add interviewing to it rather than move your system of record.
- Security review or procurement needs published SOC 2 and an independent bias audit before a pilot can start.
- You want the competency weightings calibrated against the people already succeeding in the role, rather than written from the job description.
- You want the interview recorded and the score traceable to the moment in it that produced it.

#### Choose HappyFleet when

- You have no ATS, or you want to replace the one you have — HappyFleet runs application through onboarding, including background checks and certifications, as one system.
- An ordinary phone call suits your candidates better than anything that needs a browser, a camera or a working data connection.
- You want to start at a published price on a free trial, without a procurement cycle.
- You hire for Amazon DSP or FedEx ISP operations, which they name as a primary focus.
- Candidates choosing their own screening language at the point of applying matters to your funnel.

### Questions

Does HappyFleet run the interview itself?

Yes. It phones the applicant within minutes of them applying and runs the screening by voice over an ordinary phone call, with nothing to install. Candidates can take it immediately or book a time. HRMLESS runs its interview as a browser session with an AI voice agent, and records the video and audio.

How does scoring differ between HappyFleet and HRMLESS?

HappyFleet gives each candidate a numeric score against questions and criteria the employer writes for the role, with the transcript and recording kept so the score can be checked. HRMLESS derives the competency weightings from interviews with your own top performers in that role, then scores every candidate against the same version-locked instrument.

What does HappyFleet publish about security and responsible AI?

Their site states that every candidate is asked the same questions and scored against the same criteria. We looked for a security or trust page and for an independent bias audit and did not find either — happyfleet.ai/security returned 404 — so those rows are unconfirmed here rather than absent. HRMLESS publishes SOC 2, an independent bias audit and its NIST AI RMF alignment through the Trust Center.

Who is HappyFleet the better choice for?

Frontline operators who want one system for the whole hiring pipeline rather than an interview layer on an existing ATS, who value a plain phone call as the candidate experience, and who want to start at a published price.

How current is this comparison?

Every row was read from HappyFleet’s own public pages on 2026-09-01, which is the review date shown above the table. If something here is out of date — particularly if you work at HappyFleet — tell us and we will correct it.

happyfleet.ai/security and happyfleet.ai/integrations both returned 404 when checked, which is why two rows are marked as not publicly confirmed rather than unavailable.
